Title: From molecular interactions to multicellular signaling: measure, understand, and engineer
Abstract: Understanding and engineering the molecular interactions that drive multicellular signaling is crucial for elucidating biological processes at the tissue level, including regeneration, development, and cancer. In this talk, I will discuss our approaches, which range from genomic tools development and quantitative modeling to organismal functional studies. Our work includes enhancing the resolution and sensitivity of spatial transcriptomics and employing regenerative flatworms to investigate the function and mechanism of rapid biochemical signaling during whole-body regeneration. Finally, I will present our ongoing efforts to profile RNA biochemistry at the tissue level, with the goal of advancing multicellular engineering.
